Get the Skills You Need to Lead in Healthcare
Now, more than ever, Canada’s health care system needs strong, compassionate and capable leaders. By studying CBU’s Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Health Care Management, the only of its kind in the Maritimes, you’ll learn the essential skills and aspects of managing and leading a health care unit successfully and efficiently.
In a climate of rising costs and tighter budgets, health care units are in the continual process of adapting, innovating and reinventing themselves. Health care organizations are looking for employees who are knowledgeable of policy and quality of service directives and, at the same time, have the skills to manage people, resources, innovation and costs. The comprehensive curriculum provided by this program allows students to learn essential aspects of managing a health care unit, including accounting, statistics, analytics, organizational behaviour and more, all within a culturally respectful environment.
This program is for domestic or international students who have an undergraduate degree, and wish to pursue supervisory careers in the field of health care. Or, for those students wishing to gain a foundational knowledge of management prior to pursuing a Master’s degree.
These numbers are an estimate for planning purposes only, and include tuition for the entire 2 year program. These numbers do not include health plan or accommodation fees.
To ensure this program meets Nova Scotia and Canada’s current health care climate and system needs, CBU’s Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Health Care Management was developed in consultation with more than 10 individuals
and organizations within the health care and business sector of Nova Scotia. Consultations included representatives from the Nova Scotia Health Authority, Membertou First Nations, local Chamber of Commerce and more.
As a student studying in this program, your classes will take place in the centre of Sydney’s downtown core at our off-campus Cineplex classroom location. Along with gaining the skills necessary to lead in Canada’s health care system, you’ll receivedirect mentoring from professors with expertise in health care and business sectors. Your professors, along with Career Services staff, will help students secure and succeed in internships and capstone projects.
