Marketing & Events Coordinator Co-op


Reporting to the Manager of Communications & Donor Relations, the selected student will be an integral part of the 9-person development department at CBU and will have the opportunity to learn from professionals in various advancement roles including; fundraising, customer relationship management database, communications, marketing, public relations, event planning and management, prospect research, proposal writing.

To apply for this position you MUST be a student registered in a CO-OP program. (MBA and POST BACC diploma/internships are not eligible).

Duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan, promote and execute events for alumni, donors and other stakeholders.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of annual giving activities, including content creation, stewardship and events.
  • Under the guidance of Development staff, research, interview and write alumni stories in order to create a databank of “intriguing & interesting” alumni profiles for use in print and online marketing campaigns and other communications material in addition to engage with lost alumni as we work towards the celebration of 50 years as a post-secondary institution
  • Promote and assist with communications through web site and email
  • Plan and create content and post to all Alumni social media channels
  • Assist with planning university events including Spring Convocation, Special Convocation, Conferences and other events supported by CBU Development
  • Develop skills using databases and other marketing/communications tools
  • Engage in primary and secondary research to support the fundraising department at the institution while following appropriate ethical guidelines.
  • Provide administrative support to the development team when necessary.
  • Work in an energetic, team-oriented environment and continue to develop skills, participating, leading and assisting in projects and tasks of varied sizes for different stakeholder audiences.
  • Other duties as assigned.
