BBA Accounting Summer Co-op Student

First Choice Tax Services

Term: May-August 2025
Location: New Minas, Nova Scotia

Overview:
Does working in a small firm which prides itself on recognition, flexibility, mentorship and hands-on training sound appealing? What about Casual Mondays, BBQs, apple picking and community involvement? If so, a Co-op term with our team at First Choice Tax Services might be the right choice for you!
As part of our firm, you will develop your professional accounting career while receiving mentorship from our team of partners, staff and students. As a co-op student you will be exposed to the day-to-day operations of a public accounting practice including communicating and interacting with staff and clients, assisting on projects, and preparation of personal income tax returns and other business advisory services. If you are highly motivated and love to work in a deadline driven environment this is the place for you.

The successful candidate must be:

Registered in a BBA Co-op Program
•Looking to work towards their CPA designation.
•Proficient with computers and software including Microsoft (word, excel, outlook).
•In their second or later year of university.

Experience working in an accounting firm is not required but will be considered an asset.

•A positive attitude and a strong desire to learn.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•The ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
•Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel.
•Be able to learn and work unsupervised.
There may be some personal tax preparation but there is less focus on personal tax preparation than in Winter terms.
