Reporting to the Communications Manager, the Communications Assistant will support daily media inquiries, new website development and copy editing as well as content creation for the municipality’s online channels and other general media relations, public relations and stakeholder relations activities.

The Communications Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic and experienced team.  They will be part of the daily communications flow, including announcements, special events and social media support.

As a Communications Assistant, you will have the opportunity to develop and enhance your leadership skills by supporting government communications initiatives. These projects will be dynamic and vary in scope and timelines.

Hourly Wage: $18.00

Cape Breton Regional Municipality is Nova Scotia’s second largest municipality and responsible for the administration of police, fire and emergency response, transit, local public works, water supply and wastewater treatment, solid waste, bylaws and development, recreation programs, municipal facilities and property tax collection.
