ACOA is offering four (4) internships:
• 2 internships with the ACOA Nova Scotia (Halifax) Policy, Advocacy and Coordination
team.
• 1 internship with ACOA Head Office’s Green Economy Policy team.
• 1 internship with ACOA Head Office’s Strategic Policy Development and Policy,
Research, Analysis and Reporting Policy teams.
Expand your resume, through the following responsibilities:
• Conduct research in support of policy analysis and program development
• Prepare written materials such as briefing notes, reports and presentations
• Participate in seminars and events, as appropriate
• Potential to interact with clients and stakeholders
• Analyze and monitor economic trends and issues
• Various other duties as assigned
Gain valuable hands-on experience in the field of economic development through exposure to a
diverse range of projects and initiatives.
Work Terms
• Terms: Length vary by team (possibility of 12 to 16 weeks between end of April and end
of August 2025).
• Hours per week: 37.5
• Locations: Various locations – Members of our team work virtually from one of our
offices (Moncton, Halifax, Fredericton, Charlottetown and St. John’s) using the latest
technologies to stay connected. Note: The ACOA Nova Scotia positions require the inoffice
days to be at the Halifax Office.
• In-office presence: During your work term, you can expect a combination of both
remote and in-office work settings with a requirement to spend at least 3 days in an
ACOA office.
• Hourly wages: Undergraduate students: Between $18.42 and $27.68;
Graduate students: Between $24.62 and $30.99
Intent of the Staffing Process:
The intention of this process is to staff four positions for the duration of the work terms.

• Resume – Highlighting how you meet the following essential qualifications.
Education:
▪ Candidates must be registered in a post-secondary program (undergraduate or
graduate) with an acceptable course load in economics, public administration,
political science, sociology, statistics, or equivalent fields; and have completed
at least one full semester of courses in this program.
Experience:
▪ Experience in conducting research and analysis
▪ Experience in writing reports, briefings and other documents
Citizenship Status:
▪ Your resume must also include your citizenship status (e.g., Canadian citizen,
permanent resident, temporary resident). Note: Preference will be given to
Canadian citizens and permanent residents who meet the job requirements.
Document required at later stage in the hiring process – To be confirmed and

o A certificate of academic enrollment for the September 2025 semester;
o Academic transcripts (informal, web version accepted); and
o Two references of prior employment and/or academic experience.
