Cape Breton University (CBU) and Acadia University invite applications for tenure track positions (Subject to Budget Approval) at the rank of Assistant Professor. These positions will commence July 1st 2024 (or as soon as possible thereafter) and will be located at Acadia University in Wolfville, NS.

CBU and Acadia are partnering to implement a new Nursing Program at Acadia. Initially taking the form of a satellite program of CBU’s School of Nursing, the program will transition to a joint program in 2024-2025, with Acadia then applying for approval for a stand-alone program.  We are looking to build our talent in our expanding Nursing Program and are searching for talented individuals who have real passion for making an impact in their field. Together, we are seeking progressive, energetic candidates with a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and research. The primary position responsibility will be to teach our concept-based curriculum to undergraduate nursing students. These positions are primarily located on campus at Acadia University.

Successful candidates will have:

  • An undergraduate/graduate degree in nursing (i.e. BScN, MN);
  • A completed PhD or other Doctoral degree in a health-related field (preferred) or education; Master’s prepared applicants with a willingness to complete a Doctoral degree in progress will be considered;
  • A minimum of five years’ experience as a Registered Nurse;
  • An active practicing unrestricted RN license with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (or be eligible for) prior to commencement of this position;
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching and mentoring students;
  • A commitment to nursing scholarship and research;
  • Experience in theory-based classroom teaching.
