The Department of Mathematics, Physics & Geology in the School of Science & Technology at CBU invites applications for an Instructor of Geology. This is a 1-year full-time limited term position commencing August 2022.

The successful candidate will teach a combination of courses and laboratories in introductory Geology, Engineering Geology, Petroleum Geology, and geology courses for non-majors.
Demonstrated experience in developing and teaching undergraduate courses in Introductory Geology, Earth History, Petroleum Geology, and courses for non-majors is essential. Experience in developing and teaching laboratories in engineering geology, petroleum geology courses and introductory geology courses is essential. Teaching or research experience in Earth History or introductory geology courses (especially for non-majors) will be considered an asset.
CBU teaches programs on campus, off campus in locations across Canada, on-line, and off campus in locations outside Canada. The university and its partners will therefore provide opportunities for instructors to teach in different modes in different locations as part of their regular workload. While these opportunities may not be available equally for all instructor positions in all programs, a clear willingness to teach in different modes and locations will be noted as part of your application.
The union affiliation for this position is with the Nova Scotia Government & General Employees Union, local 18, Teachers Bargaining Unit.
