The Department of Education in the School of Education and Health at CBU invites applications for a 1-year full-time limited term position (with possibility of extension) at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (depending on current achieved rank) with expertise in Sustainability, Outdoor Education, or Place-based Studies. This position will commence July 1, 2024 (or as soon as possible thereafter).

The successful candidate will demonstrate extensive knowledge of philosophical debates in sustainability, outdoor education, or place-based studies within education and is able to interpret these critically. The successful candidate will work with pre-service teachers as well as teach and supervise graduate students in these areas. As the department is expanding its program offerings, opportunities exist to contribute to course development in both undergraduate and graduate programs. Prior experience in course design is an asset.
Candidates should have a relevant terminal degree (Ph.D. or Ed.D.). Candidates who are in the later stages of their doctorate may be considered with the successful completion of the doctorate being a condition of employment.
CBU teaches programs on campus, off campus in locations across and outside of Canada, and on-line. The university and its partners will therefore provide opportunities for faculty members to teach in different as part of their regular workload. While these opportunities may not be available equally for all faculty positions in all programs, a clear willingness to teach in different modes and locations will be noted as part of your application.
