Finding the Right Fit for You: Meet Sugandha

When searching for the right institution for her post-secondary path, CBU student, Sugandha, took notice of CBU’s many student and employee stories. In the CBU Newsroom, Sugandha saw numerous stories of resilience, courage and undeniable inspiration, featuring folks from all over the world highlighting what the University means to them. After discovering that CBU also offered the exact program she was looking for, there was no doubt that this was the place for her.

Sugandha, originally from Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India, had aspirations to pursue a career in marketing following her high school graduation. Soon thereafter, she began searching for the right fit and after deciding on CBU, made the move to the Island and is now in the second year of her studies. “In my experience, the instructors at CBU really do care and take the time to listen to each individual student,” says Sugandha. “Outside of class time each instructor has office hours where they really try to understand us and help in any way they can.”

Though her undergraduate studies have yet to be completed, Sugandha has plans to continue pursuing her marketing dreams by striving to obtain a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) in marketing next. With this goal in mind, the foundation she is receiving from CBU is providing her with the necessary skills and tenacity to thrive in the next leg of her journey. 

While at CBU, Sugandha has continued to seek out new opportunities and ways to give back to CBU and the community. “​​As I continued my studies, I started looking for a chance to contribute to CBU, a place where I could help,” says Sugandha. “To me, the best way to do this was through volunteering at the CBU Food Bank and finding part-time employment at Caper Convenience on campus.” 

As Sugandha continues her journey toward graduation, she says she wholeheartedly recommends CBU to anyone who may be considering it. From the attentive professors and student resources to the recreational activities, health and wellness benefits and community, she says it’s a great choice for local and international students alike.
