Coral Maloney is an interdisciplinary artist based in Kjipuktuk/Halifax. She is professionally trained in performance and theatre and is self-taught in choreography, visual art and dramaturgy. Coral’s collaborative and independent work frequently examines nostalgia and colonial fervour; it invites place-based individual and ancestral reckoning and makes queer mischief through the use of time, space and site-specific embodied experience.Coral will open her creative process of performance-making to anyone who wishes to observe, glance, participate, examine or delve. She will be using methods from devised theatre and performance art practices to create a new performance based on her experience on the CBU campus. Coral will share her process for making art “from scratch” using the body, memory and found research material. All are welcome.
