In honour of International Women’s Day, CBU is thrilled to host the breakfast book launch event of Celebrating a Woman in My Past: A Collection of Student Essays on Thursday, March 21, from 8:00-9:00 am, in room SB202.
This project is supported by the Shannon School of Business Dean’s office and the CBU 50th Anniversary initiative. It was initially put into action by Associate Dean Mary Jane Morrison and Dr. Stefanie Ruel, Assistant Professor in Organizational Behaviour, based on the incredible and touching stories that these Post-Baccalaureate students wrote with care, as a bonus question during a course test.
The edited book captures these stories with the permission of the student writers and is based on Dr. Ruel’s research efforts to bring women’s experiences from the past to the present and future, so that we may all recognize diverse women’s contributions to society.
This event is not just a book launch, but a celebration of the remarkable women who have shaped our lives. It promises to be an inspiring and memorable occasion. For those interested in purchasing a copy of the book a cash donation starting at $20 will be required, with all proceeds will be collected to benefit two local women’s organizations.
In case of inclement weather, an alternate date will be arranged.
