Join us on Wednesday, June 26, at 10:00am for the launch of the ‘Growing Forward Together’ Project, as part of Cape Breton University’s 50th Anniversary. The planting site is located behind the MacDonald Residence, close to the Disc Golf Course.
This initiative, in partnership with the Atlantic Coastal Action Program (ACAP) Cape Breton, aims to plant 50,000 trees across Cape Breton Island to support environmental sustainability and resilience.
During this event, we will plant the first trees of the project, creating a pocket forest that serves as a nursery for further forest restoration. These native trees and shrubs have been carefully selected to adapt to future environmental changes, fostering biodiversity and supporting our Island’s ecosystem for generations to come.
