“Many military and political leaders in NATO claim that – in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the ‘rise’ of China – we are now a ‘pre-war generation’ living in a ‘pre-war world’. They claim our main duty as citizens and patriots is simple: to get our selves ‘ready’ for a probable world war in the next 5-10 years. Given that such a war will almost certainly ‘go nuclear,’ isn’t a ‘pre-war world’ a doomed world? And how can we most effectively and thoughtfully respond to such a strident call to arms (and, potentially, Armageddon)?”
