To our students,
I know during this unprecedented time you have faced many challenges. You are working hard to complete your studies, manage your personal life and keep healthy and safe. The added financial burden being placed on you due to the measures being taken to protect us all from COVID-19 is growing. I want you to know that we understand the challenges and are working hard, with our partners, to help address them.
Today, I am pleased to announce the establishment of the Perseverance: Student Relief Fund, an emergency bursary fund created to support CBU students facing hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic. Applications to the fund will be accepted starting next week. Please watch your email for additional information that will come from the CBU Financial Aid Office.
As well, you may have heard that yesterday the Government of Canada announced changes to the Canada Summer Jobs Program. To better assist in connecting CBU students with employers in Cape Breton and employment opportunities during the coming summer months, please complete this skills and housing survey.
Remember to practice social distancing and listen to the Chief Medical Officer of Health for Nova Scotia.
We’re in this together.
Yours Very Truly,
David C. Dingwall
President & Vice-Chancellor
