To the University community,
As you go about your day, I’m sure the news of yesterday’s tragic events in, and around, Portapique, Nova Scotia, are as heavy on your heart and mind, as they are on mine. Many lives have been touched by this senseless tragedy and the people of Nova Scotia and, indeed, Canada, are left to mourn an unimaginable loss.
As we grieve together in this unprecedented time, please know that you are not alone. We must lean on, and support each other. Pick up the phone, send a note or facetime with friends and loved ones. Morneau Shepell EFAP remains available to you as an employee and, as of last night, they opened their 24/7 bilingual crisis support line for the public (1.844.751.2133). Below you will also find several resources that are readily available to you. Please use them should you find the need.

Please remember, we are Nova Scotia strong, and we are in this together.
