CBU Announces $1 Million Gift to the Forever CBU Campaign from Membertou, Clearwater and Premium Brands

Cape Breton University is thrilled to announce a 1$ million partnership gift to the Forever CBU campaign from Membertou, Clearwater and Premium Brands.

The $50 million Forever CBU Campaign, launched in February 2023,  is the largest fundraising campaign in the institution’s history and coincides with CBU’s 50th Anniversary celebrations.

The $1 million gift will ensure that moving forward, new generations of students at CBU will understand the value of partnerships and how partnering with Indigenous communities can change the landscape of business across Canada.

The Forever CBU Campaign is raising funds to support scholarships, bursaries and research to help break down barriers to education and attract the brightest minds to study on our campus.

The campaign also includes a new and expanded Nancy Dingwall Health and Counseling Centre, a completely renovated Canada Games Complex to include a new fitness centre, studio spaces, multi-use spaces and the new Home for Women’s Hockey opening in 2024.

Finally, the campaign consists of a new science and research building, the Centre for Discovery and Innovation, and the new medical sciences building as part of the Cape Breton Medical Campus, which will welcome its first class of medical students in August of 2025.
